Who Makes Up Troop 383
Troop 383 is made up of dozens of boys from the Altoona, IA area. Our troop is chartered to the Altoona Christian Church.
When Does The Troop Meet?
We meet every Monday night (with certain exceptions) at the Altoona Christian Church
What Do We Do?
Troop 383 keeps up a regular calendar of activities. On most weeks of the month we have a troop meeting at the Altoona Christian Church, our chartered organization. We try to go camping once each month, usually to a park or other wildlife area within driving distance from Altoona. At least once each year however we try to take a more extensive trip considered to be more high adventure oriented. Examples of this kind of trip would be a trip to the Boundary Waters, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, or the badlands of South Dakota.
Our troop also regularly attends Camp Mitigwa near Boone, IA each summer for one week. It's a great opportunity for scouts to participate in dozens of activities that you don't normally get to do anywhere else.
